WONVITA Waste Robot – R&D Journey
Share
March 2022
· Project initiated. Defined product shape and dimensions. Through countless brainstorming sessions, over 100 appearance concepts were explored before finalizing the current design of Wonvita.
(Initial appearance mockups were made from cardboard)
(Team members actively contributed ideas during development meetings.)
April 2022
· First simple prototype created.
· First laboratory setup completed.
May 2022
· Second prototype assembled, featuring the core component — the waste processing chamber.
· Began testing various types of kitchen waste.
· Observed outcomes of different food waste after processing.
October 2022
· Third prototype assembled to test new blade design and improve cutting power.
· Rotating blade unit underwent over 20 redesigns. Finalized a 4-slot manganese steel blade, hardened by quenching and precisely machined for cutting even hard bones.
· From May 2022 to May 2024: over 1000 kg of fruits/vegetables and 500 kg of bones tested.
· 10L processing chamber developed through 25 iterations. Final design required 1000-ton aluminum die-casting and precision machining.
· Anti-stick, ultra-durable coating developed after 100+ formula adjustments. Withstands long-term grinding of bones and shells.
· Dual-sided 54-fin aluminum heat dissipation module machined for thermal performance.
· Control system built from three integrated mainboards.
· Brushless DC motor finalized with 10,000+ hours lifespan, 45 dB operation, and 40 Nm torque — handles even tough bones.
January 2023
· Fourth prototype assembled to verify high-temperature sealing performance.
September 2023
· Sixth prototype assembled to test airflow filtration system.
· 7-day food residue preservation test confirmed positive/negative ion tech effectively maintains freshness.
· Tested automatic transfer of processed fertilizer from processing chamber to fertilizer bin.
August 2024
· Mold fabrication initiated.
September 2024
· Second lab under construction with improved space and conditions for advanced testing, including plant growth testing base.

High-Oil Waste Verification
-
After 30 months and nearly 3,000 formula iterations, we successfully developed:
-
A decomposition enzyme that effectively breaks down food waste with over 5% oil content.
-
A fermentation enzyme that enables composting in just 4 hours.
-
Fertilizer Auto-Weighing Test
-
System alerts when the fertilizer bin is full.
-
Precision tested to within 1 gram.
